The holiday season is the most stressful time of the year, but also the most glamorous. If you hate glitter and sequins as much as I do, you may agree that this is the one time it's okay to overdo it. I'm sharing five looks that will make you own any holiday or new years party, without succumbing to the boring sweater.
This is always a go-to, especially if you wait until the last minute like me. Now the idea is to accessorize correctly. Bling out your ears and feet and it will truly transform this subtle look into something glam. This dress was passed down by my mother from 1985. Side note: resale/consignment/vintage boutiques have the best finds. I reccommend looking there for something original!
If you're a little more daring and want to show off, opt for a gown. I love the slit on this velvet gown. It adds just the right amount of glam, but it also helps to create a gorgeous drape. I found this dress at Windsor on a very random whim. Their options are endless!
Full Black Maxi Skirt
Skirts are always fun and can be created to look however you want them to. I paired this full maxi skirt from Chicwish with an off the shoulder onsie. I wanted the skirt to have abit more emphasis. This is a super easy way to create a classic silhouette with easy, inexpensive pieces. Add a deep lip (goth vibes optional) and you're all set.
I wore this skirt to bring in 2018, and I cannot tell you how much of a show stopper it is. I bought this one last year from Clad and Cloth (similar one here), and it was the best decision I ever made that day. I'm a little more on the minimalist side, but if you're feeling ultra daring, then go for the extra glitter and sequin. I paired this with a sleeveless onesie, and strappy black heels.
Okay, so you're gathering may be a little more lowkey, no worries. Grab your favorite jeans, pop out heels, and a simple blazer, and you're set. Add some fun jewelry, bold lipstick, and you cannot go wrong!
There is no need to stress this time of the year. We should truly worry about the things that matter like being with the ones you love, and the food, obviously! Remember to always add a little bit of your own taste, and own the night with beauty a grace!
