Slide sandals always make me think about my brother and his childhood friends, post basketball game. They'd take their clunky sneakers off and slide into, exactly that, a slide. Associating something boy-ish with something so new and fresh always attracts me. Most people are wearing slides right now with the fuzz and the fake hairs, but I wanted to keep mine simple. So here is my third pick for the summer.
I found these little cuties online at Call it Spring (I have actually never heard of the store before until recently) for an absolute STEAL, that I had to get them in two colours. Slides are meant to be relaxed and you really shouldn't put much thought into them. You really can't go wrong with how you choose to wear them. I just grab them and go. These sandals are comfortable, but I had to wear them around the house to break them in because they were STIFF (power walking in them may cause cramps, so take it easy if you lose your sister at the supermarket at 10pm on a Friday before your sushi date).
I love just love how effortless and versatile slides are. Pair them with a dress or chinos and you're set! They give me such 90's, urban feels, so it only felt right to shoot with some inner city art. I paired my pale pink slides with an all black number, and my black slides with a bold little dress I found at Old Navy (go figure). Slides are so fun to me, but if you're going to buy a pair, don't get them too big or your toes might slide forward!
